Walking home

I have decided I am not a Daylight Savings fan. I like mornings.

However I am determined to make the most of it, so I have started walking home from work. It is lovely along the river in the early evening, albeit a bit windy at times.

I just need to maintain this consistency and I'll be right!!!

Iris, I have been very conscious of bike riders and whether they are wearing helmets. I have yet to see a cyclist who is NOT wearing a helmet. Every single cyclist that I have seen has worn a helmet. So there you go.

Over my bug

I've been pretty crook. :(

I was off work for two weeks plus not feeling myself for another week. Whatever I had hit me really hard.

Now I'm back and since I've been on an enforced detox for almost a month I have decided to continue with the detoxing. I am making a conscious effort to stay off sugar, wheat and dairy as well as processed foods. I don't want to maintain this level of effort forever, but I figure lots and lots of vegies is a good thing with my immune level still recovering.

After a month I will take a long hard look at any benefits and make another decision about lifestyle diet. Anyone who knows me will know I don't do diets. But I think I can handle a detox. Kind of like having the light at the end of the tunnel before you start if you know what I mean.

I have been physically unable to exercise and I will take it easy until my cough is completely gone but I'm looking forward to some nice gentle walks again.

Melbourne

I spent most of last week in Melbourne for work. The best part of my trip was catching up with Andrew. It was great to finally put a face to the name. We met for coffee and it was like catching up with an old friend. He's a skinny bugger but almost exactly as I had imagined. We talked about people in blogland like we knew them. Andrew is the third person I have met "for real" from blogging. I am usually a little cautious because, well, you just never know, but Andrew was as nice in person as he seems from his blog.

I managed to get in a couple of decent walks and I even spent half an hour on the treadmill in the hotel gym. Melbourne is a great city. The food, the shopping. I went up to the Rialto skydeck which was very cool. Great for tourists.

But now I'm home and I seem to have some sort of chest infection. It's a nasty cough that hurts all the way down. I'm blaming the flight home. There were some sick people on the plane who coughed and carried on. A plane is an enclosed space - no dodging the bugs there. I've been dosing up on the Vitamin C but I think I'm beyond that being helpful. Sigh. Hopefully I'll start feeling better soon.
